Welcome to my website: Family, friends/classmates, and those of you I have yet to meet. I invite you to journey with me through my book and many of the historical and mythological events behind its telling. For those of you who have a copy of my book, I have included in five sections several items not available with the first edition. These items were added to a second edition of the book published in 2017; they include two appendices of genealogical tables for the Tommaso family, two reviews posted after the first edition was published, and a short section added to the text. For those of you interested in purchasing a copy of the first edition, it continues to be available through Amazon.com. Copies of the second edition will be available soon through author distribution. Check back periodically for details, and if there are any comments about this site please feel free to email me at josarac41@gmail.com.

A Sicilian-American Comedy is an episodic, fictional account of four generations of a Sicilian family: one part of which immigrates to America, while others stay behind. It is a tale of La Famiglia, filled with acts of sacrifice and sacrilege, love and malice, mystery and murder; there are even considerations of cannibalism and transubstantiation. Passions rage over the ravages of war and the stigma of cuckoldry and homosexuality, while the main protagonist struggles with insecurities over mediocrity and his myriad illusions about love, sexuality and happiness. In the end, it is a story of bright and willful women who rebel against the rigid subsidiary role their men and traditional upbringing have allotted to them. Five mothers from four generations exhibit the wisdom, compassion and courage that not only holds La Famiglia together in bonds of love, but reminds us that we once had good reason to worship Goddesses as Supreme Beings.
